About our Wine
2015 A small harvest saved from the local bird attack 300 bottles of Sav Blanc/Semillon blend made garagiste style.

2016 is the first year that our Longacres Vineyards Wine has been certified by SAWIS.
We cultivate Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes with the aim to produce an elegant
white bordeaux style blend wine.
We harvested a portion of the vineyard block that we were able to cover in bird netting,
getting a total of 1.42 tons of grapes, 1 144kg of Sauvgnon Blanc and 283 kg of
Semillon, giving a field blend of approx. 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon.
After fermentation and racking, fining, filtering etc we bottled 895 bottles of wine.

2017 saw a better harvest with a production of Sauvignon Blanc wine, a Rose
(54% Cabernet Franc and 46% Pinotage) a limited amount of single variety Pinotage
and Shiraz.

2018 was a year to keep the vines alive! the drought and the escalating cost of water
prohibited proper irrigation. Irrigation was set at survival mode only. I have only made
about 250l garagiste style for self consumption.

2019 harvest was completely attacked by the birds - decision made not to harvest but to drop the crop to save any stress to the vines

Table Olives and Oil can be tasted and purchased on site.
